Pink Watercolor

So this week has been moving week, hence the silence on the blog! I wanted to get at least one outfit post in, so here's one last set of photos from the apartment. I love this silk pink watercolor top that I got from the Elie Tahari outlet a few months ago. I always get compliments when I wear it. This time I wore it for work with a pale pink cardigan, brown trousers, low-heeled beige pumps, and rose gold cluster pearl earrings.

Things with the move have been going pretty well.  We're mostly settled in downstairs in the kitchen, family room, and dining room.  The upstairs is another story though.  I can't wait to unpack my clothes this weekend!  I have been living half out of a suitcase for the past week or so, which isn't something I even like to do when I'm on vacation.  I'm hoping I'll get some new creative outfit ideas while I'm unpacking.  I may do a little bit of shopping this weekend.  I haven't bought anything since June and I definitely have my eye on a few things!  Like this cute tweed vest from Old Navy.

White Scuba Dress

I got this dress as part of my little shopping spree at the Elie Tahari Outlet in May.  I wasn't sure when I would wear it, but my nephew's christening at the shore this weekend was the perfect event!  My sister said it looked futuristic with the zipper down the front and the scuba material.  I paired it with these killer lace-up heels that I got as a gift from my mother-in-law.  I also wore some gold and white bangles and my monogram straw clutch.  I got a lot of compliments which is always fun!  Do you have a little white dress?  I think they are perfect for summertime events!  (Although a little risky with all the little kiddies in my family!)

Shades of Blue

I wore one of my new skirts to a Mary Kay party at my friend's house this past weekend.  The skirt is cyan blue with a turquoise band at the bottom, so I paired it with a navy silk blouse to stay in the same blue color family.  I also had on a sparkly gold and blue necklace that is mostly hidden under the collar of the top.  This skirt did wrinkle pretty easily from sitting in the car. I can definitely see myself wearing it in other ways though, like with a striped top and a belt.  The flowy shape and lightweight material are perfect for the hot summer days!  It'd also be great for work if it were a few inches longer.

Pineapple Pants

So I am kind of obsessed with these pineapple print pants!  I got them a few months ago when the Peter Som for Kohl's line first came out.  I wore them for the first time this weekend and loved wearing them!  I definitely anticipate wearing them a ton this summer because they are super comfortable and the print is so fun.  I like that it has a solid base (black) so it keeps them from being too loud.  I got a ton of compliments from friends and random strangers, which was fun! It got very warm so I ended up wearing this outfit mainly without the jacket and with the shirt untucked.  It was perfect for a casual housewarming party we attended for friends in Baltimore!

Rainy Day

There's something about rainy spring days that makes me want to wear bright colors.  This pink top was a recent purchase.  I really like the subtle pattern, plus the keyhole neckline.  I definitely think it will be getting a lot of wear this summer!  I paired it with my basic black pencil skirt and a structured white jacket for work.  I've had this jacket for years.  I remember it being a bit of a splurge at the time but I recognized that the quality material, classic shape, and interesting details would make it a piece I would wear for years and I definitely have!  You can really find some great things at Banana Republic.  I've had a number of things from there for years and they are still in excellent condition.  Are there any stores you would recommend for quality clothes?  Share in the comments!

Suit Up

I've had getting a new suit or two somewhere on my list for awhile now, enough that it was one of my goals for the year.  So now I can cross that one off!  I really lucked out at the Elie Tahari Outlet last week.  I found this dark pin-stripe suit and another tan suit, plus nice silk blouses and a white power dress.  I love the faux-leather accents on this suit and the longer length of the blazer.  It was nice to add some quality work pieces to my closet.  Now I gotta go through and spring-clean my closet to make more room!  Anyone have any experience with Thred Up?  I've seen a lot of people using it on Instagram, so I've been thinking of trying it out.  Let me know in the comments if you have used it!
