Stripes & Jeans for Work

Our food drive at work has started again, so I have been enjoying wearing my jeans each Wednesday for a dollar donation.  This basic striped shirt has been heavily in my rotation this year.  I like how it works easily on its own or as a layering piece, as seen here.  For work I wore it with straight leg jeans and this navy sweater with gold accents.  A casual outfit that is still put together enough for a work day.

Casual Maroon & Blue

Easy casual outfit for a Sunday spent catching up with friends and watching football.  The weather was beautiful this weekend.  Saturday was nice and warm and we had some friends over for a little housewarming party.  It was a nice opportunity to meet some of our new neighbors, too.  Sunday cooled off a little bit, so this open front cardigan was the perfect thing to wrap in.  It's a little hard to see but my necklace has a blue color similar to the tee and a purple close to the sweater, so it went well with the simple outfit.  Such a perfect fall weekend!

Oversized Cardigan

One of the many things I love about our new house is our beautiful backyard!  We have a covered porch, a new-ish shed, and pretty rock wall surrounded by landscaping.  There's also a tree house which needs some repairing - one of Jon's projects for the springtime.  We're planning to get a fire pit and some Adirondack chairs soon to enjoy the cool Pennsylvania autumn evenings.  I wore this easy outfit to a BBQ and the movies over the weekend.  This oversized dolman-sleeve cardigan is from the Kohl's Designation collaboration with Catherine Malandrino last year.  I picked a few similar cardigans below.

Layered Up at Fisherman's Wharf

I hope you all had relaxing and enjoyable Labor Day weekends!  We spent ours in San Francisco, visiting with some great friends.  The first day was a little cooler, especially on the pier down by Fisherman's Wharf where we shot these pictures.  I went with flats for most of the trip since we were walking a lot. Did you go on vacation for the long weekend or stay local?

Lace Peplum & Gold Details

It has been such a hectic but exciting week, which led to me being quieter around here than usual.  I expect to be getting back to normal posting now.  (And I look forward to sharing some exciting house news once it's official!)  The summer food drive started at work this week.  You can wear jeans each day you donate a food item.  My mom got me these Banana Republic jeans for Christmas a few years ago and they have held up really well.  They are perfect for work because of the straight, not too fitted leg.  I wore them with an ivory peplum top and navy cardigan that I had last paired together in the wintertime (see it here).  This time I wanted to bring out the gold accents on the sweater, bag, and shoes, so I wore my gold bib necklace and drop earrings.  The sweater was perfect for the strong AC at work, but I quickly took it off when I was outside because it has been warm here lately! (Although I am not complaining, I love it!)

Rainy Day

There's something about rainy spring days that makes me want to wear bright colors.  This pink top was a recent purchase.  I really like the subtle pattern, plus the keyhole neckline.  I definitely think it will be getting a lot of wear this summer!  I paired it with my basic black pencil skirt and a structured white jacket for work.  I've had this jacket for years.  I remember it being a bit of a splurge at the time but I recognized that the quality material, classic shape, and interesting details would make it a piece I would wear for years and I definitely have!  You can really find some great things at Banana Republic.  I've had a number of things from there for years and they are still in excellent condition.  Are there any stores you would recommend for quality clothes?  Share in the comments!

Matchy-Matchy

I went a little matchy-matchy with this work outfit.  The pink, tan, and brown sandals match the salmon top, tan jacket and cognac bag.  The white necklace ties into the ivory cords.  This top is a sweater material, which is nice with the short sleeves for this time of year when the weather changes so much during the day.  I felt very springlike in this color scheme which was nice for a middle of the week workday!
