Black Friday Shopping Fun

Got my new camera this morning - Nikon Coolpix P520!  I've been having a lot of fun today starting to play around with it and I'm really happy with how the pictures have been turning out.

I packed this cashmere and wool blend turtleneck and black jeggings to wear with my black boots for lots of shopping and then more family time.  Jon and I found a new rug for our apartment.  It is really nice to see how it is coming together!  I also went to the mall with my mom and my sisters Mary Beth and Jenny.  My mom got us all a cozy sweater from Urban Outfitters.  I also found a fun festive sweater that I'm looking forward to wearing a lot in December.

Jenny took these pictures and I snapped a pic of her outfit too.  Check it out at the end of the post.  :-)

We're doing a food drive at work.  This week you could wear jeans if you gave $1 a day towards the food drive.  I went with layers, gold accents, and leopard.  Last night we saw the new Hunger Games - so good!!  Definitely worth seeing in the theater.

Happy Thanksgiving!

One of the things that I'm excited about with this blog is being more creative with my outfits.  I liked what I was wearing yesterday but I wish I would have thrown on a blazer or a vest to add some more interest.  Side note:  I cannot wait until Black Friday and getting my new computer and camera!!  (Looking forward to no more blurry pictures!)

Warm and comfy for a work from home day.  This is the last Catherine Malandrino for DesigNation at Kohl's piece that I bought.  It is like a big comfy blanket you can wear.  Also, I think I'm going to be putting more fleece leggings on my Christmas list.  Love being cozy and warm!

Chambray and Fleece Leggings

Super chilly Sunday in Philadelphia, but nice and sunny!  I really need to try and clean off our balcony floors though!  I layered up in my chambray tunic, wool cardigan, fleece leggings, and OTK boots with a pop of color in my statement coat.  Many thanks to my amazing sister Mary Beth for taking these shots.  Look for her on an upcoming guest post sometime soon!

We ate lunch with my in-laws in Conshohocken at Southern Cross Kitchen, very tasty food and comfortable surroundings!  And the Guinness cake is AMAZING!!  Then we went to Best Buy to look for a new computer and camera.  I've had the same Dell since junior year of college so over 6 years now and the camera is almost as old, so I'm really excited for new gear!

Sweaterdress Double Date

Love this Catherine Malandrino for Kohl's sweaterdress!  It is perfect for a cooler weather night out.  I wore it last night to dinner on a double date with my close friend Shannon and her husband Jim.  I love how it has a slip attached.  It is super comfortable and flattering.  I also love these LC Lauren Conrad heels.  They are super tall so I don't wear them often since we're usually walking a bit in the city.  They were the perfect match for this dress though  I'm also wearing my wedding gift from Jon - Tiffany silver knot necklace and earrings.  :-)

Polka Dot Fuzzy Sweater

We took these pictures out on our balcony just before an amazing pink and red sunset.  This LC Lauren Conrad sweater is super warm and fuzzy.  I love the cute polka dots and the light blue color.  I paired it with my leather jacket and tall light brown boots.  It was a brisk and windy day here in Philadelphia so I bundled up with my leather gloves and black pashima before we left.  (P.S. If you live in or visit Philadelphia, be sure to check out Di Bruno Bros. on 9th near Chestnut Street. Their selection of cheeses and olive oils is fantastic!)

Low-Key Fun Date Night

Here's what I wore for date night with my hubby.  We just got married in September and have had a busy few months.  It's nice to have an easy Friday night -  romantic dinner at home (beef stir fry yum!), catching up on Parks and Rec, and soon heading out to catch up with some friends.

I've been loving the Kohl's lines this fall - especially the Catherine Malandrino for Design Nation and the LC Lauren Conrad lines.  This faux-leather skirt is from the Catherine Malandrino collection.  I like it with this blue silk blouse and suede wedges for a date night or with a sweater and boots during the day.  Tights are basically a must now in Philadelphia!
