Waiting Game

So no baby yet!  My due date has come and gone now (it was yesterday), so we're just waiting for our little man to make his arrival any day now.  I'm feeling well still overall, trying to stay patient and relaxed.  This lightweight blush sweater was my latest (and last) maternity purchase that I picked up for Easter.  I wore it with my straight legged black pants and these adorable scalloped LC Lauren Conrad flats.  I'm definitely glad I punched up the outfit with the bright purse because it was otherwise a very neutral look (in a very neutral looking background).  I am really looking forward to the bright colors of springtime!

This will most likely be my last post before the baby arrives.  I have a couple guests posts coming up with my sisters' adorable springtime outfits - so keep on the look out for those soon!  I'll also be sure to check in with baby news as soon as possible!

Spring Scarf

Sorry to have been so MIA the past couple weeks!  Baby isn't here yet, but between third trimester fatigue and trying to finish last minute tasks I haven't had a ton of energy to get blog posts up. I am hoping to get a couple more posts up before the baby arrives though and looking forward to start navigating post-partum fashion soon.

So, I'm at 38 and a half weeks now!  That makes me nearly officially full-term (technically early term until Thursday when I'm 39 weeks), which means our little man could be arriving any day now!  These shots are actually from a few weeks ago, so my belly is a little bit bigger now.  I love this gauzy scarf for spring.  I wore this simple outfit for an easy Saturday relaxing and then when we went out wedding dress shopping for my sister.  Mary Beth found her wedding dress that day, which was very exciting!  She is going to be such a beautiful bride in just a few short months!

Punchy Purse

I LOVE this fun watermelon crossbody bag that I received as a gift from Jon's very stylish and generous Aunt Renee! It was nice and sunny this weekend, although still a little chilly, so this bright purse added a nice springy pop to the simple neutral outfit.  I also went with a similarly colored necklace and earrings.   This parachute style sweater was a Christmas gift from my also very stylish and sweet Aunt Rita a few years ago.  It isn't a maternity top, but the swinging shape works with my baby bump.  I'm definitely starting to get a little tired and bored of my maternity clothes at this point, so it's always fun to find something new that I can make work in my closet.

Pop of Pink

This cute cowl neck sweater was another one of the maternity items I borrowed from my sisters.  I love the bright pink stripe between the gray and white and the pink bands on the sleeves.  I paired it with dark skinny jeans, boots, and gold jewelry on a sunny wintry day.

Side note - I am 35 weeks pregnant today!  Only 5 more weeks to go!

Maroon & Leopard

There's something I like about the combination of maroon and leopard.  It's an easy pairing, especially with black.  So, full disclosure, I pretty much only wore these shoes for the photos, since we ended up staying in on Friday night to watch Birdman rather than going out to the movies.  (Birdman was a really interesting and entertaining movie.  I definitely recommend checking it out!)  I love the muted leopard print of these shoes, though, and it was fun wearing them even if it was just for a few minutes before I went back to my Uggs.  Less than 6 weeks to go now until our little man arrives!  I was determined to get more outfit pictures this weekend, so I should have few blog posts coming this week rather than just one.  I also have a couple ideas to share related to some other projects I've been working on.  So there is some good stuff coming in the next few weeks! :-)

Maternity Colorblocking

With the super cold weather lately, I've mostly been in maternity pants for work (especially these), but I felt like dressing up a little bit on a warm enough day last week.  I picked up this colorblock dress a few weeks ago and paired it with some opaque tights and a black blazer.  This Tahari blazer technically isn't a maternity blazer but the placement of the button works with my baby bump, plus it's roomy enough up top to be comfortable.  This outfit was easy to put together - dress + blazer + simple jewelry and accessories.  I felt professional and stylish!

Bump Status: Currently 33.5 weeks.  I'm about 32 weeks in these pictures.

Valentine's Day Kisses

So full disclosure, I don't love how these pictures turned out and probably wouldn't share them normally - if I didn't really want to get a post up of this adorable kisses dress! I snagged it a month or two ago during a sale at A Pea in the Pod and knew it would be perfect for Valentine's Day. I had grand plans to get outside to snap some outfit pictures, but it was a smidge too dark and way too cold so it had to be indoor shots! I am hoping the weather starts warming up so I can get back to taking pictures outside and posting more regularly before the baby comes in just about 8 weeks from now. I'm going to share a little baby update below!

32 Week Baby Bumpdate:
Feeling:  Good!  I really have been so lucky to have had such an easy pregnancy so far.  Aside from some heartburn and general discomfort as I have gotten further along, I really have had nothing to complain about.  The time has really been flying by so fast. It's hard to believe I'm in my 8th month already, but  I'm getting really excited  to meet our little man soon!
Cravings:  I haven't had too many really.  I usually just want really basic foods, like plain sandwiches or meat and veggies or chicken tenders.  I haven't wanted to cook really at all, so thankfully Jon is doing the cooking most nights.  I fill up really easily since my stomach is all pushed up, so I try to eat smaller meals and snack more frequently.
Maternity Clothes:  Pretty much exclusively now, aside from some stretchy tops and pants or PJs that still work.  As much as I have enjoyed being pregnant, I definitely have started to look forward to wearing normal clothes soon and getting my regular shape back.   I miss fitted waists and tucking shirts in.  I know that there will still be a transition period after the baby comes, plus I'll have the new challenge of finding clothes that work well with nursing.
Name:  We are working on it!  We started a list on Google Drive earlier in the pregnancy of baby name contenders, which we were adding to for a while, and now we have been slowly starting to narrow it down.  The list currently has 6 names, so hopefully we'll pick one of them soon!
Nursery:  The nursery is coming along!  It's painted a pretty, neutral yellow and we're mostly playing with the colors in the Pottery Barn Kid Brooks bedding that we chose.  So it'll be mostly blue and gray with an elephant/baby animal theme.  We're hoping to pick a rug before the crib and changing table/dresser are delivered in a few weeks.  I'll try to share the finished result in a blog post sometime in March!
Nesting:  Totally!  I have gotten bitten by the organizing bug.  I really just have this urge to get all of our cabinets and closet as organized as possible before the baby comes.  I am hoping if I have some systems in place, it'll be easier to keep things organized after the little one arrives and everything changes!  On that note, I have been seriously obsessed with the Dollar Tree.  They have such great stuff for organizing.  I am hoping to share some of my recent projects soon.  Jon also got me a label makers for my birthday a few weeks ago, so anything that can get a label has been getting a label.  I don't know how I made it 28 years before wanting one!
Baby:  According to the doctor, he is measuring right on track.  He definitely seems to be getting a lot bigger and stronger as the weeks go by.  His kicks are getting stronger and stronger.  I try and guess which body part he's using - like sometimes I'll feel his foot or hand up by the side of my rib cage while his head or butt is towards the front of my stomach.  It's especially fun when he's moving all around and I can see it and feel it.  That usually seems to be when I'm sitting or laying pretty still, especially at night before bed.

Outfit Details:
Tights:  Vera Wang, Kohl's (I just bought these in the next size up and they work.  I also have a couple pairs of maternity tights which are a little more comfortable, although not as opaque.)
Shoes:  Diane von Furstenburg, DSW, old (similar)
Bag:  Sasha Rhinestone Box Clutch via Century 21

Striped Dress

I was getting a little tired of my maternity clothes this weekend, so I wore some of my non-maternity clothes that still work this far in my pregnancy.  The last time I wore this easy cotton striped dress was back in August when I was around 2 months pregnant and not showing yet.  I was happy to see it still worked now that I'm 7 months pregnant.  The waistline did cut across my stomach a little bit, but I planned to layer a scarf on top anyway.  My sister Mary Beth gave me this beautiful scarf last year for my birthday.  The colors in it worked well with the stripes in the dress and the oatmeal color of the cashmere cardigan.  Comfortable layered look!

A-line Maternity Skirt

It was my dad's birthday this weekend and I felt like getting a little dressed up for the celebration.  One of the perks of having lots of sisters is sharing clothes!  This cute lace maternity top and medallion a-line skirt were passed to me from my older sisters.  I liked how the texture in the lace top paired with the pattern in the skirt.  Then I went with a gold chain link necklace and neutral bag and boots to complete the outfit.

Bucket Bag

My in-laws gave me this gorgeous MK bucket bag for Christmas.  The leather is nice and buttery and the gold details are really pretty.  I also love its thicker strap, which makes it easy to carry, and the medium size, which keeps me from loading it up too much.  For this outfit I stuck with dark neutrals plus my tweed puffer vest.  I added a pop of color with the blue fringed scarf and the coral earrings.  Easy casual outfits like this one are pretty much what I have been living in lately!
